Description

The straw bale house is located in the small village of Essertfallon, in an idyllic setting in open countryside. Associated with an organic farming area, it has been built with a view to respecting and conserving nature. The straw bale house has one attractive guest room with private access and bathroom, four guest rooms with a shared bathroom, as well as a dormitory. The straw bale house can accommodate a total of around 30 people.

A tepee village is set up in summer on a plot of land 10 minutes' walk from the Maison de Paille and offers you the chance to live in the wild. A large tipi of 9m diameter (10 pers.) and two smaller tipis of 5.5 diameter (5 pers.) are available, as well as a covered kitchen area, a place for the fire, dry toilets and showers. The floor of the tepees is covered with wood chips, to sleep there you will need to take your camping mattress and sleeping bag.

Two different-sized rooms, each with a large picture window, can also be rented for seminars, spiritual retreats or other events. The recently-constructed sizeable terrace, is a major asset in this eco-friendly premises, and provides an outdoor space for relaxing with a fantastic view of the Clos du Doubs. A large kitchen with a dining room is available in the main house (farm).

It is also possible to book your meals (morning, midday and evening) upon request. There are many opportunities for walks throughout this attractive region. The Doubs River is 4 km away, and Saint-Ursanne is 8 km away. From Saint-Ursanne station, a postbus takes you directly to Essertfallon, and it is then a 100 m walk to the house.
